Every year, the Balearic Islands draw thousands of visitors, mostly for their stunning beaches, but that's really not everything they have to offer. Whether you're a die-hard nature lover or just want a nice way to stretch your legs for a bit, you won't want to miss these beautiful hikes in the Balearic Islands. Obviously, the best time to enjoy the effort is anytime out of the summer months – especially July and August which can be extremely hot – and even the winter season has some delightful sunny days, perfect for hiking.
MALLORCA: on the biggest of the Balearic Islands, there are many paths and famous hikes, some going through the Tramuntana mountains and offering stunning views over the Mediterranean, some others crossing pittoresque villages.
IBIZA: although Ibiza has a fame for being a party destination, this island is home to some seriously impressive natural wonders. One of them is the Cala de Sant Vicent bay, with its crystalline waters and the dramatic cliffs that surround them.
MENORCA: the Cami de Cavalls is an age-old path that would take around 20 days to hike in its entirety. It has been divided up into 20 smaller sections to make things a bit more manageable.
FORMENTERA: even the smallest of the Balearic Islands has some great hiking opportunities. Formentera's Sa Pujada path dates back to ancient Roman times, and has withstood the test of centuries. Connecting the towns of Es Caló and La Mola, the hike takes about 45 minutes one way.
